5 Weeks Series: Strength-Balance-Training

What´s better than training? Training outside in nature!
In this series, we will be focussing on training in an unstable, but controlled environment with the help of equipment like exercise balls and boards … and of course our own bodies! Beginners will start with the basic exercises and progress according to their own abilities.
We will be going through a workout which is meant to promote Well-Being by strengthening your powerhouse [your core], promoting balance and supporting flexibility. Good balance is the foundation for healthy movement. This helps beginners to build a base to start training and it helps advanced athletes to address imbalance to avoid injury.
This workout is great on its own or when being used to enhance your ability to participate in other sports, like hiking, acro-yoga, aerials, climbing or surfing. It´s a mix of Pilates, HIIT and yoga – we keep the cardio to a minimum though as this is not our focus.
It is good to have a certain base fitness, but if you are a motivated beginner you are also more than welcome. This is not a competition; this is about everyone´s own abilities. For all exercises, there are several intensity options to choose from.
Please bring a mat, towel and water. Comfortable, stretchy clothing is recommended [leggings, sports top]. We will meet on the grass beside the playground at the Mt Pleasant Community Centre.
