A Rare Good

Life has become hectic and imbalanced. Some of us sacrifice sleep to spend more time with the family, others can simply not fit all the daily chores into the hours each day has. Others are so electrified from their stressful days at work, that they cannot fall asleep easily anymore with their minds spinning around one or the other thing which was being mentioned at work. We get up in the morning needing a stimulant like coffee to get us going and have a glass of wine in the evening or the occasional sleeping pill to calm us down again. Life has become hectic and the first thing that we tend to sacrifice willingly or unwillingly is the thing that keeps us alive and healthy: sleep. Lack of sleep has negative effects and so has low quality sleep, not allowing us to enter the regenerative deep sleep phase, which is responsible for us feeling refreshed when we get up in the morning.

Lack of sleep, not sleeping deep enough or a constantly getting mixed up circadian rhythm drastically harm your Well-Being. It affects your hormone levels, your physical performance and your brain function. It can lead to:

  • Mood Swings
  • Increased Cortisol Levels
  • Weight Gain
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Dementia
  • Weakened Immune System
  • Loss of Exercise Performance
  • Premature Ageing
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Negative Influence on Anxiety and Depression
